Day 3 Jetlag Free....Well Kind Of!!

We started off the day in a rush as ususal. Our fearless driver made up time and got us safely to the Western Power plant in Taean. We were amazed as we approached the grand state of the art structure that resembled the Willy Wonka factory versus an American facility. We were greeted kindly, as usual, and were beamed up to the vip lounge. We viewed an amazing PR video and were blown away by their commitment to the community and the environment. As the video ended the curtains drew open and revealed the power plant. Then we toured the actual facility from the 30th floor.

A pleasant suprise was the the power plant's dam which not hidden or fenced off, but on the contrary, it was decorated by famous artists and marked with handprints. We were able to add our mark in time and history on the wall.

Midday, was lunch in downtown Taean and shopping for essentials. Unfortunately some of our appliances (blowdryers and irons) wouldn't work out here even with the converters.

Later, we toured the beautiful beaches, played some traditional Korean games, were driven around the coastline, and visited a coastal town for coffee. We had the opportunity to meet the District Governor and the incoming GSE Team from South Korea that will go to Central MA. As we didn't think that the cuisine could get better we were blown away but the fresh local seafood, it was so fresh that it was even moving, for real!!!

Today will be our first night at our homestays apart from one another. And the adventure continues!!
